Travel to the Philippines
Kick off your Southeast Asian tour with a trip to the Philippines, a country composed of 7,107 islands and about 80 million friendly people.
Your first port of call in the Philippines is the capital, Manila. The hub of commerce, entertainment and government, Manila will give you your first taste of Philippine culture. From this place you can fly, take a bus or ride a vessel to a whole lot of places.
For people who want a taste of the tropical sun, sand and surf, Southeast Asia is always a popular choice.
Not only is travelling to the countries in this region light enough on the pocket, you can also decide to hop from country to country if you have the time and the guts for it.
Southeast Asia is composed of a smattering of archipelagic nations, so you won’t find it too much trouble going from one country to another. Despite their close proximity to one another, each country offers something uniquely its own, in terms of food, culture, religion.
Even if you can’t afford to travel to all the countries in one summer, you know that you can always return the following year and pick another place you’ve never been to.
As with any trip, planning your stay in the Philippines is the most important thing you should do before you even pack your bags and book a flight.
More adventurous and experienced travellers can pull off a go-wherever-my-feet-take-me approach to holidays abroad, but it is still recommended that you at least know where you’re going, how to get there, and where you’ll stay for the rest of your trip.
The rest, as they say, is history.
